Mission Statement

The Neo-Futurists are a collective of wildly productive writer/director/performers who create:

  • Theater that is a fusion of sport, poetry, and living newspaper.
  • Non-illusory, interactive performance that conveys our experiences and ideas as directly and honestly as possible.
  • Immediate, unreproducable events at headslappingly affordable prices.
We ebrace those unreached or unmoved by conventional theater - inspiring them to thought, feeling, and action.

Description

The Neo-Futurists, founded in 1988, present the late-night hit "Too Much Light Makes the Baby Go Blind, 30 Plays in 60 Minutes" fifty weeks per year. The company also presents a four-show season of full-length world-premiere plays by members of our artistic enemble. We also tour extensively and teach workshops, classes, and residencies in the practice of our non-illusory performance aesthetic Neo-Futurism at our theater and at schools and universities around the country.
