Mission Statement

Equipping Youth and Families for Lives of Reconciliation in God's World.

Description

In the wake of the racial turbulence of the 1960’s, Camp Tall Turf was founded in 1968 with the vision to provide a safe, peaceful and fun environment for children of different racial groups to come together. The founders of Tall Turf shared the conviction that the Christian community ought to be at the forefront of the work of dismantling racism and injustice. They chose the name "Tall Turf" for the site of their camp because of the many tall trees stretching heavenward and for to recognize claim it as God's turf. Since it's very beginning, Tall Turf's ministry has been to proclaim and demonstrate Christ's ministry of reconciliation. We believe that all people are called to God’s ministry of reconciliation and we seek to carry out this mandate by creating opportunities for youth and families. Today Tall Turf is building on this original vision as it provides and develops year-round leadership development programs aimed at equipping youth with the skills and the awareness needed to be effective agents of reconciliation in God’s world. We believe that all people are called to God’s ministry of reconciliation and we seek to carry out this mandate by creating opportunities for youth and families.
