Mission Statement

River City Theatre Company exists to offer people of all ages from Watertown, Minnesota and surrounding communities the opportunity to experience and produce quality theatrical productions.

Description

River City Theatre Company (RCTC) was founded in 2008 by citizens from Watertown, Minnesota, who felt the need for local community theatre that provided a fun, educational, and accessible arts experience to area residents of all ages. We received federal 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status on July 14, 2014.

Thanks to the devotion and talent of our mainly-volunteer core, we have produced 13 shows in the last 7 years: Old Explorers (May 2008), Pollyanna (February 2009), Romeo & Winifred: A Tragical Comedy in Two and a Half Acts (February 2010), Peter Pan (September 2010), The Wonderful Wizard of Oz (September 2011), The Diary of Anne Frank (March 2012), Alice in Wonderland (September 2012), Arsenic and Old Lace (March 2013), Watertown: A River Runs Through It (July 2013), Roald Dahl's Willy Wonka (September 2013), Little Women (March 2014), A Cabin on Swede Lake (July 2014), Cinderella (September 2014), and are currently beginning production on The Mousetrap (February 2015).

Over the life of our company, RCTC shows have been enjoyed by more than 8,000 patrons and more than 400 actors, technicians, and production staff. We have seen steady and continuous growth that would not be possible without the support of our community in the form of arts grants, business sponsors, and the generosity of our patrons.
