Mission Statement

Youth Campaigns is a San Diego based 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that creates programs for low income, minority and dis-advantage youth, that introduces life skills and training to ultimately help improve their quality of life. 100% of your charitable donations go right back into the programs that benefit participants.

Finding Voices gives participating youth a real world skill, introduces them to industry role models and creates a true path toa career in an emerging technology.

Finding Voices is an innovative new technology program that offers minority, low-income, at risk and disadvantaged teens the opportunity to be trained how to utilize advanced social media tools and techniques to successfully create and manage socially conscious social media campaigns for businesses that target them. "Campaigns for Teens, by Teens"

Participating teens create social media campaigns for nationally recognized non-profits that address such issues as bullying, leadership, conflict resolution and peace building. The hands-on training will also provide instruction on video production, photography and content writing that will be created to support each social media campaign. Life skills discussions will also be a prominent part of each training session. Every training session will be taught by Shawn McClondon and other experienced instructors in the multi-media industry. Participants will be required to work on individual and group assignments inside and outside of class.

The program in it's entirety is broken into 3 parts. Session One, which is a social media certification course with a one month social media campaign as a final project. Session Two, is a course that is comprised of all hands on experience for those students who have graduated from Session one. The last portion of the program is a paid internship for students that have participated in both sessions with digital media firms in San Diego that have partnered with Finding Voices.

The description clearly states "Self-starter who takes initiative" and "Self-motivated and able to work well with little supervision" I feel that this organization and the founder model these qualities.
