naked masks is an evolving performance project. we present theatrical works that look beyond appearances to explore what lies beneath.

Description

Origin

in 2002, a group of theatre artists in the san francisco bay area presented naked masks, an original production of short works by luigi pirandello. the title derived from the author; in an unusual practice, pirandello provided a title for the published collections of his plays: Maschere Nude, or Naked Masks. in the wake of this production, a company emerged.

naked masks is a member of intersection incubator, a program of intersection for the arts providing fiscal sponsorship, incubation and consulting services to artists. naked masks is a member company of theatre bay area.
