The Mission of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Washtenaw County is to create and support one-to-one mentoring relationships that ignite the power and promise of youth.
Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) of Washtenaw County is a program designed to match children with positive role models who can offer them guidance and support in growing socially, emotionally, and academically. Emphasis is placed on producing positive changes in the child through this special friendship that benefits the child at home, at school, and in the community. The primary focus of this program is to expose children to safe, caring, supportive adults who will provide them with opportunities and experiences that they might not otherwise have. They focus on developing assets that children need in order to become caring, confident and competent members of the community.
