Mission Statement
My name is Funmi Jimoh and I work for a non-profit organization called the Brilliant Lecture Series. The Brilliant Lecture series is an organization that is dedicated to educating and inspiring the Houston Community. We bring in national and international leaders, role models, philanthropists, artists, humanitarians and authors. In the past we have brought in Her Majesty Queen Noor of Jordan, Sidney Poitier, and Kofi Annan. We also sponsor a youth program called, BRiLL KiDS TaLKS. For these programs we have had local heroes speak to students in our area on topics ranging from Broadcast media, Science, Technology, Engineering and Math, and our upcoming event entitled Money Matters . In order to sustain our programs we have various fundraisers. Our upcoming fundraiser is a Benefit Concert in which Linda Eder will be performing. I thought that the MVP would be interested in providing volunteers to help us with this concert Friday, September 14, 2007. Not only will the students be providing community service, but they also have the opportunity to experience the brilliant Voice of Linda Eder. I have attached for you to review, a copy of the flyer for our benefit concert. If you will have any students, faculty or staff, available to help us during that time, please contact me at the information provided below. We have multiple volunteer opportunities, including one our BRiLL KiDS TaLKS on September 11, 2007. Please let me know if you will be able to help.
