Mission Statement

Radio Bilingüe is a network of community radio stations licensed and operated by the Latino community, serving the San Joaquin, Imperial and Salinas valleys, Mendocino County and audiences across the nation with programming that focuses on Latino music and issues.

Radio Bilingüe believes in radio that promotes community wellness and respect to the dignity of the individual and the principles of equality, freedom and peace.

In pursuit of those ideals, Radio Bilingüe seeks to promote access to the radio airwaves of Latinos and other under-served communities.

Radio Bilingüe seeks to serve as a vehicle for the free expression of the most diverse array of values and thoughts fostering ideas that are enlightening to the human spirit as well as creative and entertaining.

Radio Bilingüe also seeks to foster understanding and cooperation among the diverse racial, ethnic, national, and cultural groups. This includes building linkages within Latinos as well as the broader community and between nations.

Description

Radio Bilingüe's annual ¡Viva el Mariachi! Festival was established in 1982 to celebrate and preserve important Mexican cultural and artistic traditions. Every year since then, we have committed ourselves to bringing together local, national and international Mariachi's to the Fresno Convention Center-Selland Arena. The 2008 Festival will be March 30.
