Our mission is to promote the well-being of vulnerable children by healing those harmed by abuse or neglect, helping families provide safe, nurturing homes and teh resources their children need to thrive, and advancing innovative programs and policies that contribute to the welfare of children.
Children's Institute, Inc. in an organization dedicated to the prevention, intervention, and treatment of child abuse and neglect. CII has a total of three main campuses. Two are in Los Angeles, and one is in Torrance. There are also other centers in Long Beach, Watts, Compton, Lynwood, and another in Torrance CII's programs include Project Fatherhood, for fathers who have recently gained custody of their children; Grandma's House, for grandparents (or other relatives) caring for grandchildren (nieces, nephews, etc.); domestic violence services; foster care; Early Head Start and preschool programs; school-based services; child abuse treatment services; a trauma center; assessment; and training for professionals that come into contact with children and families in crisis. In the past decade, CII has established several enrichment programs in the areas of art, literacy, wellness, and parent training. These programs are part of CII's Family Resource Center.

The staff is very supportive. You get to bond with young children and serve as a positive role model. I was part of the summer Super Start program that met once a week and I had an enjoyable experience.
