Mission Statement

The purpose of the Disability Policy Institute is "...to educate individuals with disabilities through training, technical assistance, and mentoring toward leadership roles in disability policy and practices; in particular, leadership roles towards evolving a consumer-focused, mission-driven, non-fragmented, efficient, and effective service system; and further, leadership roles in service system research, design, funding, development, and implementation." (Article ll, Art. of Org.).

Description

Organization helps measure social programs success in housing, employment, health, and supports for individuals who may be veterans, have disabilities, may be less well educated or ill and are generally on the fringe of society but needs technical volunteers to help determine how impacts can be recorded, measured, and determined.

This organization is interesting in that it is attempting to find new ways to measure the impacts of social interventions at an individual, community, and societal level. Very worthwhile effort!
