Mission Statement
To hold juvenile offenders accountable for their crimes and the harm they cause to their victims. To teach juvenile offenders the importantance of becoming productive citizens. Our office supports programs that offer juveniles the opportunity to change their behavior by training community volunteers to help children change directions.
Description
The Community Arbitration Program is a community based diversion program for first-time juvenile offenders charged with a non-violent crime. These youth are diverted from the Juvenile Court System to arbitration hearings conducted near the juveniles' community. Trained volunteer arbitrators conduct the hearings and monitor the juveniles' progress through-out the program.
