Mission Statement

Our mission, is to make available to those mentally challenged the chance to participate in the fine and performing arts and be allowed to express themselves creatively. Our goal is to encourage support in the development of their self-esteem and self-worth. We wish participation in PHAME Academy to be a pleasurable experience for the artists, meeting the needs of each participant and evoking a change for the better in their lives. Emphasis will be given to providing students an opportunity to be involved in the fine and performing arts to their fullest potential, to recognize and encourage talent which otherwise may remain hidden, and produce a theatrical performing and fine arts experience for the audience.

Description

PHAME Academy is dedicated to enriching the lives of developmentally challenged citizens of all ages through participation in performing and fine arts. Drama, music, art, writing and other creative expressions offer new endeavors for the students. They also prove to have a positive impact on self-esteem, social and communication skills and physical ability. Phame also provides a place to meet new friends. We are a non-profit organization providing fine and performing art opportunities to people with special needs. Age group is all-inclusive; race, creed and color is not a question.
