Mission Statement

We surround students with a community of support, empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life.

Description

CIS Nassau serves the largest number of at-risk youth ages 11-19 in Nassau County; impacting children most at-risk of failing academically, dropping out of school and turning to drugs, alcohol and/or crime. We bring community resources into the schools during, before, and after school hours to help struggling students. Middle school services focus on developing a solid academic base for success, a safe place to go before or after school, coaching for attendance and behavior, and enrichment activities to develop well-rounded teens less prone to unhealthy lifestyle choices. High school programs are built on the belief that a teen with a realistic goal for the future, a plan for achieving that goal and supportive partners in making it a reality is more likely to get up in the morning, come to school, succeed in school and graduate.
