Here's a sample of our volunteer opportunities:VIEW AS
The Ketchum-Downtown YMCA is an association of people of all ages, ethnic groups and religious affiliations who are united in a common effort to put Judeo-Christian principles into practice and to enrich the quality of spiritual, mental, physical and social life for individuals and families, within the unique, diverse business and urban residential communities of downtown Los Angeles.
The Stuart M. Ketchum Downtown YMCA, named for the Los Angeles businessman whose dreams, efforts and philanthropy led to its opening in 1986, is the largest not-for-profit community service organization in downtown Los Angeles and an important part of community life in the many neighborhoods it serves. The Ketchum-Downtown YMCA works to meet the health and social service needs of more than 10,000 men, women and children.
The YMCA strengthens families and helps people develop values and behavior that are consistent with Judeo-Christian principles. It is for people of all faiths, races, abilities, ages and incomes. No one is turned away for lack of ability to pay. The YMCA's strength is in the people it unites.
A volunteer board sets policy for its Executive Director, who manages the operation with full-time and part-time staff and volunteer leaders. The YMCA meets local needs by developing community assets through organized activities called programs. Our YMCA works to promote strong children and families, good health, a solid community, and a better world.
