Description

Since 1948, the Sky Tavern Junior Ski Program has provided Reno area children and families with the opportunity to enjoy safe recreational snow sports. Children, teens and volunteer adults learn to ski or snowboard with instruction from trained instructors and certified trainers, all in a family-friendly environment at budget-friendly rates.

This unique Nevada tradition operates at the City of Reno-owned Sky Tavern Ski Area on Mt. Rose . The non-profit organization has 1,000 committed seasonal adult volunteers who serve 2,500 children each weekend. Three full time paid staff members handle the business end of the operation year round.

Sky Tavern takes pride in its adaptive ski school, teaching children with various disabilities how to enjoy winter sports.
