Mission Statement

The mission of the Oklahoma Historical Society is to collect, preserve, and share the history of Oklahoma and its people.

The mission of the Oklahoma History Center Volunteer Services Program is to provide trained and dedicated volunteers to assist with the daily and on-going operations of the various departments within the Oklahoma Museum of History.

Stories, spirits, triumphs and tragedy...the Oklahoma History Center is your opportunity to experience Oklahoma's inspiring and adventurous past.

Located on 18 acres across from the Capital building, the History Center is a beautifully designed, self-guided exploration of Oklahoma - past to present. Within our 215,000 square-foot learning center are five extraordinary, state-of-the-art galleries housing more than 200 hands-on audio, video and computer activities.

The volunteer program with the museum offers a wide variety of both education and fun opportunites. We provide a lecture series, field trips, workshops, and wonderful way to give back to the Oklahoma community!
