NEDC is in its 6th year & we continue to provide affordable performing arts education & training to inner city youth in the Worcester area. We also provide a 40 member Traveling Team with competition & performance opportunities. Over the years we have performed in KidsFest, First Night, The St Patrick's Day Parade, The Columbus Day Parade, The WPI Black History Month Celebration & at numerous nursing homes. Our 7 member staff is always available to the members of NEDC for peer mediation, homework help, one-on-one counseling or just plain friendship. We pride ourselves on not just being available during after school hours, but also offering plenty of performance opportunities as well as family fund-raising events during the weekends & school vacations. We hold an annual golf tournament, car washes, an annual Halloween Party, Glamour Party sleepovers, Halloween mini golf tournaments, etc. Our largest event is our annual Recital in June where all of the students are showcased between two 3 hour shows. It gives the students a feeling of great accomplishment to invite family & friends to their Recital to show what 10 months of hard work & dedication can do.
