Mission Statement

Health Education on Wheels (HEOW) is a community-based non-profit organization with a mission to provide free or low cost health information and education services to individuals with preventable diseases. Our methodology consists of providing instruction, advice, support, encouragement, and prevention strategies to individuals with these diseases, those at-risk, and their friends and family.

Description

HEOW has a new initiative to be established as a leader in NYC for prevention services with a strong focus on diabetes prevention through the CDC's National DPP. With this in mind, we are looking for volunteers that can bring new ideas and innovation to our processes. We have a strong focus on recruiting underserved New Yorkers to our programs and thus seek culturally sensitive volunteers that wish to improve the health of these communities and beyond.
