Mission Statement

Our mission is to educate the community about different abilties through the powerful art of dance. We aim to provide a network of mutual support, advice and resources to people currently living with a different ability in order to improve their quality of life. We want to educate the rest of the world and the dance community about disability awareness and equality.

Description

In februrary 21, 2010, Co-founder Chelsie Hill was in an alcohol related car accident, leaving her paralyzed from the waist down. Following her injury, Chelsie and her father Jon decided to turn this tragic accident into an oportunity to help others. Walk and Roll Foundation has since then grown into an amazing team of inspiring individuals who have overcome similar challenges and adversity.

Walk and Roll Foundation provides an educational program called Rally4Reality to middle schools and high schools in order to broaden the minds of students and parents about the dangers of drunk or distracted driving. We motivated students to make smart choices and to perservere when faced with a challenge.

The Walk and Roll Dance Team travels to various ability festivals, expos and events to inspire others to set high goals and strive for success despite any "limitation". The team also participates at popular dance events such as World of Dance, and urban hip hop competition to show the dance community that dance is dance regardless of ability.

Our R4R speakers, dance team and ambassadors a part of the Walk and Roll team strive to provide hope for those facing hardship after a traumatic event and to help motivate them to tackle their new life on wheels.
