To promote commercial and industrial revitalization in Chicago's neighborhoods; to serve as liaison between member groups and government agencies, foundations, news media, and other institutions; to provide technical assistance to neighborhood development organizations; to make financing available to neighborhood retail and industrial businesses; and to formulate public policies or respond to existing ones without regard to partisan politics.

CANDO has a full-time staff of thirteen.We provide expertise to enhance neighborhood retail and industrial business organizations. Reclaim enviromentally-tainted land and strateizing on how to make workers job-ready. Financie for emerging woment and minority owned small businesses to help them grow. Improve neighborhood life by filling missing market needs in retail areas. Find resources to regenerat and expand Chicago's precious manufacturing job base. Enable low income neighborhoods to plan and implement their own development strategies.
