Description

The GFWC Elk Grove/Laguna Women's Club is a non-profit community service volunteer organization. We are the local chapter of the General Federation of Women's Clubs (GFWC). As such, we are a part of the world's largest and oldest nonpartisan, nondenominational volunteer service organization of women.

We have adopted two new projects this year, Operation Shoe Box (care packages for military stationed in combat areas) and Memory Box program ( hand decorated boxes given to hospitals for expecting parents leaving hospital without a child). In addition to our new projects we will be supporting our ongoing projects: Adopt-A-Family, Penny Pines Reforestation, Project Linus, the Strauss Festival and our Higher Education Scholarship program, along with a host of other worth while projects.

Our club is composed of women with various backgrounds coming together through community service. Many of our projects come straight from our members expressing an interest in improving our community. We work on local, state, national and international projects based on the focus of our current membership needs.
