Mission Statement
The mission of the Rape Crisis Program of the Department of Community Medicine of St. Vincent's Hospital is:
- to assure that sensitive medical care, counseling, support, and advocacy are available to primary and secondary survivors of sexual assault and childhood sexual abuse who reside in Lower Manhattan and the New York City region and
- to educate the public and other service providers about the needs of sexual assault survivors an
- to work toward the elimination of sexual violence.
Description
The Rape Crisis Program provides services of survivors of rape, incest, and sexual abuse and for their families and friends, including medical care, crisis intervention, counseling/psychotherapy, support and advocacy.
