Mission Statement

Sharsheret is a national not-for-profit organization of cancer survivors dedicated to addressing the unique concerns of young Jewish women facing breast cancer. By pairing those who share similar life experiences as well as diagnoses, Sharsheret provides support and resources for young Jewish women fighting breast cancer.

Description

Sharsheret provides programs and services to Jewish women and families facing breast cancer, including:

  • TheLink Program, a peer support network connecting women newly diagnosed or at high risk of developing breast cancer with others who share similar diagnoses and experiences.
  • Education and Outreach Programs including health care symposia addressing the concerns of young women facing breast cancer. Recent events addressed the subjects of breast cancer and fertility, parenting, and breast cancer genetics. Transcripts of all symposia are available on Sharsheret's website, www.sharsheret.org
  • Quality of Life Programs , including Embrace a support program for women living in the advanced stages of breast cancer; the Busy Box for young parents facing breast cancer; and Best Face Forward to address the cosmetic side effects of treatment.
