For the past 17 years, our agency has successfully served an Asian and Pacific Islander community once stereotyped to be the model minority. We have learned there is no community that is perfect nor is there a community immune from the devastation of substance abuse. Asian American Recovery Services has become a model of culturally competent programs for Asian and Pacific Islander communities and continues to build ethnic diversity throughout our many programs and services. More importantly, we have expanded health education and prevention programs so Bay Area youth can prosper in their education and fulfill their dreams.

We are proud to share the good news that our agency is meeting the challenge. With three years of unprecedented growth, our agency is now the largest community-based organization in the United States providing health education and substance abuse treatment services targeting Asian and Pacific Islander communities. This kind of growth is the result of our dedication to our mission as we strive to better meet the health needs of individuals and families. Our research, dual-diagnosis treatment, and services centering on healing the mind, body and spirit, are just a few of the innovative approaches that makes Asian American Recovery Services a national leader in health education and substance abuse treatment.
