Mission Statement

Project Hope, Inc. is a non-profit organization incorporated for the purpose of providing educational services in the rual communities of West Jefferson County, Alabama. These services are offered to the public in the Graysville, Adamsville, Brookside, and surrounding areas.

Project Hope is dedicated to re-directing at-risk youth and young adults by preparing them to become successful, productive, positive role models, and contributing citizens. Project Hope, Inc. will expose the youth to current and leading edge computer technology, e-learning, and effective communication techniques. Customized programs in reading, math, science and technology will be offered to instill career oriented, technical skills development experiences based on their individual needs and learning styles.

Project Hope will also provide after school tutoring and summer enrichment programs for children. Adult life skills training classes will include basic computer classes, resume writing, interview skills, computer aided application completion, and basic budgeting using software applications.

Educators and volunteers will be available to help with homework, school projects and computer assistance.

Description

The above communites were once supported by the coal and steel industry. Project Hope, Inc. plans to be an outreach center where the community can rebuild beginning with collaborating with K-12 local schools, business leaders, etc. creating a family learning evironment.
