Bark Avenue Foundation is a nonprofit 501c3 organization committed to significantly reducing pet overpopulation through spay/neuter, humane education and community outreach.
BAF partners with communities and with other nonprofit organizations, understanding that collaboration is critical to its success. BAF prioritizes spay/neuter funding and programs, to stop the pet overpopulation problem at its source: unintended litters. It also supports pet owners, particularly those who are in at-risk and under-served populations (including the homeless), focused on pet retention and reclamation. These services include (1) free and subsidized spay/neuter (2) providing free pet ID tags; (3) offering gently used bedding, collars, leashes and other goods for those in need; and (4) providing pet food and emergency medical care on a case-by-case basis. BAF also promotes humane education through outreach events and unique marketing platforms in Los Angeles and surrounding communities.
It is totally worth it to support and volunteer with an animal rights organization. This one is a great place to volunteer because it helps pets by spaying or neutering them to reduce the overpopulation crisis. So many irresponsible breeders out there that just care about money and not the animals welfare. It is very sad and shameful.
Organizations like this give animals a chance. Every animal deserves protection and respect through compassion. So please Spay or neuter your pet to reduce animal homelessness cuz some end up at shelters and get killed cuz the shelters were full and couldnt find a home for them. If the pets are wandering on the streets lost they could wind up at the hands of cruel people and dog catchers. So it is also important to microchip or get am ID tag for your dog as well as cat companion.
