Mission Statement

Coffee Creek Riding Center contributes to the stimulation and development of students with physical, mental, emotional, and social limitations through a free educationally based program utilizing therapeutic horseback riding.

Description

A special relationship with the horse helps the children work harder and longer at therapy. Riding therapy impacts mental, physical, social and emotional areas of life. Special games and exercises are designed to help strengthen muscles and increase balance, strength and coordination as well as self image.

The people here are very nice. Everyone here helps if you need help. What they do is just amazing. I've worked with kids of all ages and capabilities. To see them progress is so rewarding. As a volunteer, you can walk by the kids while your forearm rests on the horse's back, play games with the kids, or lead the horse. You don't need to have any horse experience to volunteer here. The most remarkable thing about this center is that the riding lessons are free for all students and have been since the center started in 1977. This really is a wonderful place to give your time. New volunteers are always welcome.
