Ethiopia Reads collaborates with Ethiopian communities to build schools, plant libraries, teach teachers, boost literacy and provide youth and families with the tools to improve their lives.

Description

Ethiopia Reads is a tax-exempt 501(c)3 organization founded in 1998 with the goal of providing much needed in-language books to the children of Ethiopia. The vision quickly grew and by 2012, Ethiopia Reads had planted over 60 libraries across Ethiopia and had kicked off an unmatched librarian and educator peer mentoring and training program.

Today, Ethiopia Reads is a new organization with a focus on schools, libraries, young athlete education and mentorship and educator training. We move forward with a focus toward working within Ethiopian communities and partnering with those communities to cultivate minds for a stronger tomorrow.

To date, we have served 120,000 children.
