Mission Statement

Our Mission is to enable children, youth, and adults to reach the fullness of their potential through education in English Language Arts, Reading, Math, Technology, and TASC.

In fulfillment of this Mission and in the spirit of Mother Theresa Gerhardinger, SSND, and Mother Caroline Friess, SSND: The Notre Dame Learning Center strives to welcome children, youth, and adults, encouraging them to take advantage of the educational opportunities offered; to create an environment that facilitates the development of the whole person; and to teach the skills necessary for further educational endeavors or employment.

Established as a sponsored ministry of The School Sisters of Notre Dame, Rochester, New York in 2004.

Notre Dame Learning Center offers after school and summer tutoring in English Language Arts, and Mathematics, for children in grades one through nine. Tutoring is provided on a one-to-one basis. Children are able to benefit from the relationship or mentorship in this fashion.

Notre Dame Learning Center offers adults 18 and over, Classroom instruction, for those working toward their High School Equivalency Diploma. TASC (formerly GED) Classes are limited to 15 students, which enables the student to receive more personalized lessons, as compared to larger sized classes. Science, Social Studies, English Language Arts, and Mathematics are covered in the program. Each subject is covered in a 2-hour session, one subject per day, Monday through Thursday. Teachers are acredited and experienced in their given discipline. TASC instruction class runs September - May.
