Mission Statement

The mission of the Milwaukee Center for Children and Youth is to keep children safe, to create nurturing communities, and to advance best practices and improved outcomes for children and families.

Description

The Milwaukee Center for Children and Youth, Inc. (MCCY) is a 501(c)(3), not-for-profit corporation that was founded in 2011 to respond to unacceptable gaps in services for abused and neglected children.

The IRS granted MCCY tax exempt status in June, 2012. Since that time, we have been busy installing the community’s first full-time, on-site Family Advocate at Milwaukee County Children’s Court, training community volunteers and youth leaders to facilitate restorative justice circles, implementing evidence-based programming and forging strategic partnerships to prevent child abuse and neglect, and delivering training to social workers, students, and legal practitioners on providing a trauma-informed response to children and youth who have been maltreated.
