Mission Statement

Kimberton Waldorf School is dedicated to nurturing the developing child in accordance with the educational principles of Rudolf Steiner, and to building a supportive, diverse community around the children. In our school community we endeavor to create social forms that ennoble human striving, recognizing the spiritual in each person. The school fosters the unfolding individuality of each child by awakening the child's capacity to meet the world, others, and the self with warmth of heart, clarity of thought, and strength of purpose.

Description

Kimberton Waldorf School is a independent school that educates over 300 children from early childhood through the 12th grade. We provide a holistic and developmentally appropriate education by teaching to the head, heart, and hands of each child, with the goal of teaching our students how to think, not what to think. We do this through a well balanced program of academics, arts, and practical experience. Our program is a developmentally based curriculum that educates the whole child: intellectually, emotionally, and physically. The curriculum is designed to be paced with the child's stage of development, and we introduce learning concepts and skills when the child is developmentally ready for them. We are located on over 400 acres of beautiful Chester county farm land. We have a fantastic school garden and gardening program that the children participate in. We also sponsor an annual conference for young people on entrepreneurship.
