Description

Founded in 1988, Mainly Mozart has built a reputation for bringing world class music to the San Diego/Baja California region. Maestro David Atherton assisted by Executive Director Nancy Laturno created Mainly Mozart in 1988 to give the people of Southern California an opportunity to experience the finest classical music performed live by principal orchestral musicians in the summer as well as during the traditional concert season. The first Mainly Mozart Festival in 1989, a series of nine concerts performed on the outdoor stage of the Old Globe Theatre in Balboa Park, received enthusiastic critical and public acclaim. Since then, Mainly Mozart has grown to a fully bi-national organization presenting over sixty concerts each year.
