Wildfires are devastating communities across California, causing more than 300,000 people to evacuate their homes and threatening many more. We are a nomadic homeless shelter. Intake begins at 3:30 pm and our "guests" can come in, shower, watch TV, search for employment on our computers, meet with case manager to obtain ID's, mental and medical health services, housing, and eligibility for assistance. We have a bus that picks them up at 6:00pm and drives them to a host church, where they are provided sleeping space for their mats and bedding, and a warm meal. At 6:30 am they are picked up and brought back to our facility where they can access their personal bins for any items that they need for the day. This past year we operated for 7 months and the goal for this coming year (October 1st) is to be a year round shelter.
