San Antonio Dance Umbrella

Description

The organization is committed to ensuring the presence of dance as a vital and growing art form reflecting the rich cultural diversity of the community. Through its programs, SADU serves choreographers, dancers, dance companies, dance schools, and audience members. Representatives of all forms of dance are encouraged to participate in the programs of the Dance Umbrella.

Some of SADU's programming includes:

Dance at Radius - free monthly performances downtown at the Radius building

WIP (Works-in-Progress/Wednesdays-in-Performance) - a collaboration with Jump-Start Theatre presenting new, original works by local dance artists.

The Julia L. Cauthorn Scholarship - annually awarded scholarships to six outstanding youth to assist in dance training costs
