Mission Statement

PILAS(Partnership for Independence, Learning, and Achieving Self-Sustainability) is a women's housekeeping cooperative dedicated to increasing the economic independence of its members--many of whom are single mothers and/or victims of domestic violence--who face many barriers to sustained and lucrative employment. The cooperative is entirely worker-owned and operated and provides opportunities for personal development such as collective decision-making, leadership opportunities, professional-development workshops, and vocational English as a second language classes.

Description

PILAS offers professional, personalized housekeeping services to residents of San Mateo and Santa Clara Counties. PILAS members participate in collective decision-making, personal-development workshops and English classes, and receive on-going training and professional development.
