Description
The North Dakota Center for Persons with Disabilities was provided resources and information and the North Dakota Senior Medicare Patrol staff and trained volunteers serve as local experts and educational resources for consumers and partners concerned about errors, fraud and abuse.
The North Dakota Senior Medicare Patrol (ND SMP) program recruits and teach senior volunteers and professionals such as doctors, nurses, accountants, investigators, law enforcement personnel, attorneys, teachers, and others to help Medicare and Medicaid beneficiaries become better health care consumers. Volunteers work in their communities and in local senior centers to help identify deceptive health care practicies, such as overbilling, overcharging, or providing unnecessary or inappropriate services.
