Mission Statement
AWED's mission is to help foreign-trained Immigrants in Minnesota achieve long-term socioeconomic success by developing the existing entrepreneurial culture, and by integrating this population into the professional U.S. workforce.
Description
AWED empowers foreign-trained New Americans, refugees and asylees to overcome barriers to professional employment in the U.S. We provide cultural sensitive workforce development support. Providing job search, career building services and business mentorship. AWED aims to cultivate the confidence and skills needed to professionalize, and formalize business activities within immigrant communities through business training and services.
AWED aims to remove obstacles and provide business opportunities and economic development participation for women - promoting gender equality.
AWED also seeks to create partnerships with Minnesota companies who value diversity and are looking to attract top talent; we help them find and integrate this hidden workforce.
