Mission Statement

ATD Fourth World Movement is an anti-poverty nonprofit that runs grassroots cultural and educational projects, as well as participatory research in partnership with struggling communities. It empowers vulnerable families to actively participate in institutions and fosters positive change in communities.

Description

The Fourth World Movement has been working in New Orleans since 1990. In 2011, we moved to our new Commmunity Center in the 7th Ward. Our current projects include a weekly Street Library, a stoop talk project, a neighborhood garden, and the Summer Festival of Learning, an activity-intensive salute to children, community, and alternative learning.
