Mission Statement

Hide & Seek is not a game. Hide & Seek is a foundation dedicated to ending the suffering experienced by the thousands of children who have a severe, life-threatening condition called Lysosomal Disease. Until now, children with Lysosomal Disease have been hidden from our sights because their disorders seem so rare and have names that are often unpronounceable. Their parents are told that there's no hope, that there aren't any cures. Their lives are turned upside down; their futures suddenly devastating and bleak. The story of these families is not uncommon. Each year, Lysosomal Disease affects up to one of every 5,000 babies born in this country. In fact, Lysosomal Disease touches us all. Like other genetic diseases, we inherit it from our parents and we pass it on to our children. And, just as with other genetic diseases, you will find children with Lysosomal Disease in virtually every city, every town and every community in America. The Hide & Seek Foundation for Lysosomal Disease Research believes that science can triumph over these devastating degenerative disorders. We are committed to supporting the scores of scientists working on research designed to find cures. Parents and friends of children with Lysosomal Disease have the right to expect that there will be good medicine and effective therapies to treat and cure their loved ones. Our job is to make sure their expectations are met.
