Mission Statement

The mission of the non-profit North American Bear Center is to advance the long-term survival of bears worldwide by replacing misconceptions with scientific facts about bears, their role in ecosystems, and their relations with humans.

Description

The North American Bear Center (NABC) is a one-of-a-kind nature center where visitors can learn from our four ambassador bears themselves. Black bears Ted, Honey, Lucky, and Holly live at the Center in a 2-acre setting where their habitat includes much of what a wild bear would experience - trees to climb, natural foods, a pond, and opportunities to build dens.

At the Center visitors will also find a wide variety of multi-media exhibits, taxidermy specimens, educational programs, theater, viewing windows and balcony, a Cub Room for hands-on activities for children, a gift shop, and much more.

For remote fans we offer live cams to view the four bears inside and outside of their dens, numerous educational outreach programs (including Speakers Bureau and traveling bear boxes for educators), Facebook page, daily updates, and a thriving international volunteer program.
