Mission Statement
Rogue Valley Habitat for Humanity is a Christian based, volunteer, non-profit, housing ministry making home ownership possible by drawing together people of all faiths and backgrounds to build affordable homes in partnership with those in need here in Jackson County.
Description
Habitat for Humanity/Rogue Valley is not a handout program, but a handup program. Habitat builds houses with the Partner families in need here in Jackson County. Volunteer labor is used to build houses to keep the building costs low for Habitat families. Partner families pay a monthly mortgage payment on a no-interest, 30 year loan. The Partner families also invest 500 hours of "sweat equity" - into building their own house. Rogue Valley Habitat for Humanity was founded in 1987, by Ross and Marge Knotts, at it's start everything was volunteer work and it took 2 years to build RV/HFH's first house.
