Roots to Freedom

Description

Roots to Freedom is a grassroots incorporated nonprofit organization, headquartered in Washington, DC, dedicated to empowering African and African Diaspora (individuals whose ancestry can be traced to Africa regardless of nationality) youth and young adults to realize their full potential. Our initiative has two primary objectives:

To teach and promote the study of African and African Diaspora history, culture, and life to our youth and young adults. We will do this creatively through forums, lectures, artistic expression, symposiums, cultural exchanges, and trips to include trips abroad and;

Establish a community based mentoring program to provide positive reinforcement and guidance in day to day living.

By doing so we will foster unity, promote positive self images, and counteract a culture of disrespect.
