To raise funds to find a cause and cure for autism
Cure Autism Now and Autism Speaks recently merged organizations to form one strong voice in our efforts to find a cause and cure for autism. Autism is a lifelong neurological disorder that strikes children usually between the ages of 18 months and three years. Autism affects 1 in 150 people. Since boys are more likely than girls to be affected by autism, 1 in 94 boys is on the autism spectrum. Every 21 minutes another person is diagnosed with autism. This year, more children will be diagnosed with autism than with Aids, cancer and diabetes combined. There is no known cause and there is no cure.
Our organization hopes to raise $50 million in net revenues this year. Of that, 75% will go back to science and research.
