Mission Statement

Offer free tax preparation and counseling to low and middle income residents with preference to seniors.

Description

Volunteer at least 4 hours each week from February 1 through April 15 at a public site . Must be bi-lingual in Spanish and computer literate. As a tax counselor, you will counsel and prepare federal and Calif. state tax returns for e-filing. Site hours will be on each Thursday from 9:30 AM to 1PM.

Tax training will be on-line and/or classroom.

All preparers are required to certify by successfully completing the IRS Advanced course.

Prior tax experience is preferred but not required.

Taxpayer returns are limited to what is "in scope" for our program.
