Mission Statement
Seniors in Service of Tampa Bay, Inc. is a non-profit organization of dedicated volunteers and staff that promotes the independence and value of seniors through services which link generations and enhance the quality of life for children and older adults.
Description
There are currently four programs offered through Seniors in Service. The Senior Companion Program recruits senior volunteers (60+) to go into the homes of homebound, elderly clients and provide them with companionship and assistance. The Foster Grandparent Program recruits senior volunteers (60+) to go into schools and after-school programs to mentor at-risk and special needs children and provide them with one-on-one, individualized attention. The Grandparents Raising Grandchildren Program provides case management and support group services to grandparents and others raising children that are not their own. And finally, the Bill Payer Program recruits members of the community (any age) to volunteer 2-4 hours per month to go into the homes of elderly clients and assist them in writing out their checks, paying their bills and balancing their checkbook.
