Mission Statement

We believe that access to books changes lives. Our mission: The International Book Bank (IBB) helps increase literacy and advance education by procuring and shipping books and other educational materials to developing countries.

Description

The International Book Bank (IBB) distributes books and educational materials to non-governmental and not-for-profit organizations in developing countries. Our books go to the poorest of the poor - those children, ill or needy persons who otherwise have no books and often, have no schools. Founded in 1987, the IBB moved to Baltimore in 1990 for acecss to the international port. During its last fiscal year, the IBB shipped some 1.5 million books valued at nearly $36 million to needy students on four continents.
