Mission Statement
The Mission of the Los Angeles Bach Festival is to bring to life the works of Johann Sebastian Bach, his contemporaries, and Bach-inspired works by encouraging an appreciation of the aesthetic and spiritual value of Bach’s music through education, the promotion of young and emerging artists, and the presentation of performances at the highest standards of musical excellence for Southern California.
Description
The Los Angeles Bach Festival (LABF) is the oldest fine arts cultural festival in the city of Los Angeles and the oldest Bach Festival west of the Mississippi. Begun in 1934, the Festival presents organ, choral and orchestral performances to audiences in the Los Angeles metropolitan area. Its stated mission is to present high quality entertaining and educational public performances of the music composed by Johann Sebastian Bach and contemporaries.
