Mission Statement

SHORE's mission is to improve the quality of life for citizens with developmental disabilities through community based services providing education/training, residential, vocational and related programs.

Description

Individuals who come to us have challenges that include: mental retardation, autism, cerebral palsy, epilepsy and many secondary mental and physical disabilities. We offer programs for infants to seniors from the North Shore and the north side of Chicago. Currently, SHORE serves nearly 370 children and adults with developmental disabilities.

SHORE is a not-for-profit organization that is nationally accredited by CARF (Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities) and is a United Way Member Agency.

Shore Koenig Training Center is the largest portion of the agency. Individuals develop work skills by completing packaging & assembly work. Many move on to community employment positions.
