Mission Statement

In 1983, the North Kingstown Town Council created the Arts Council for the purpose of sponsoring and supporting arts and culture programs in our community. Today, the Arts Council is a strong, highly visible organization that holds a prominent place in the life of North Kingstown. The mission of the North Kingstown Arts Council is: * To promote, encourage, and support the performing and visual arts while developing public awareness and interest in various art forms; * To appreciate, preserve, and share the history and heritage of North Kingstown and its ethnic diversities; * To integrate the arts throughout the community and offer oppportunity to all who want to participate in arts programs.

Description

The Arts Council is comprised of 11 volunteer members who are appointed to two year terms by the North Kingstown Town Council. The Arts Council meets on the second Wednesday of every month. The meetings are held at 7:00 pm in the Town Hall Conference Room.
