Description
Mount Carmel House (Mt. Carmel House) is a 20-bed transitional supportive housing program for women located in the heart of china town in the nation's capital. Mt. Carmel House, o perating as a self-funding program under Catholic Community Services DC Housing and Support Services program, respects the dignity of each woman in its program and has a keen awareness of the complexity of problems faced by individuals transitioning to independent living.
We serve low-income, homeless women who are 25 years or older, and are diagnosed with chronic substance abuse, mental health and medical health issues. Our goal is to help each woman to achieve self-sufficiency and renewed self-worth by breaking the cycles of addiction, unemployment, domestic violence/trauma and poverty.
